Structural Engineering
We work directly with owners/developers, architects and contractors, providing full structural engineering services for residential, light commercial and industrial construction throughout the state of Maine.
Residential Construction
Today's residential designs are becoming increasingly complex with custom requirements such as open-living spaces, overhanging balconies, and complex roof lines. Historic typical construction methodology does not necessarily apply to these new designs. Our team of structural engineers works with homeowners, architects, and contractors to achieve the desired architectural features and space requirements while also assuring proper structural performance.
Commercial and Industrial Applications
As businesses and industries expand, develop, and change use, the building infrastructure often requires structural upgrade, retrofit and/or expansion. Whether you are changing from retail to restaurant or upgrading industrial floor capacities, we are prepared to assist you in developing efficient solutions to your engineering needs. We work directly with facility owners, architects and contractors to ensure proper designs for your specific applications.
Owner Services
We are pleased to work directly with owners at any stage during the design process. We perform structural assessments of existing buildings, provide structural evaluations of existing conditions/capacities, and investigate the feasibility of renovation ideas. We also conduct building inspections of residential and commercial facilities to provide prospective owners with a review of the structural condition and considerations for a particular building. » Visit our Homeowner services page
Architect Support Services
We provide full engineering support to architects in varying capacities aimed to meet your individual needs. We provide services ranging from engineering review of structural drawings developed by your in-house designers, to full construction document development with framing plans and details to accompany your architectural drawing set. We also perform construction administration services and field inspections. Working together with us, you and your client have enhanced resources and assurance throughout the design and construction phases.
Contractor Support Services
As designs become more complex there may be parts of a structure which require analysis, design and/or detailing beyond the capacity of your crew. Whether you need simple beam sizings or complex steel detailing, we will work with you to develop buildable solutions which meet your client's design goals.
