Senior Civil Engineer
Position Summary
Gartley & Dorsky Engineering & Surveying is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Civil Engineer to join our civil engineering team. The Senior Civil Engineer will be responsible for managing and delivering a variety of civil engineering projects from initial concept through design, permitting, construction, and project completion.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, sound professional judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to independently manage projects while collaborating effectively with clients, engineers, surveyors, permitting agencies, contractors, and other project stakeholders. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects throughout Maine, including residential, commercial, municipal, waterfront, site development, roadway, stormwater, utility, and environmental projects.

Required
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Maine, or the ability to obtain Maine licensure within a reasonable period.
- 7+ years of progressively responsible civil engineering experience, preferably including project management.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, site development, grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, and roadway design.
- Experience preparing engineering plans, calculations, reports, and technical specifications.
- Experience with local, state, and federal permitting processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound professional judgment.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.

LAND SURVEYORS – CAMDEN AND DAMARISCOTTA
Gartley & Dorsky Engineering & Surveying is looking for Land Surveyors to join our team in our Camden and Damariscotta, Maine offices. These positions are primarily field-based roles with opportunities for growth over time. We have one opening in each office.
An ideal candidate will have experience in boundary and topographic surveys, but we are open to training a motivated candidate who is newer to the field. Other desirable experience would include construction layout, FAA Part 107 drone license, deed research, and drafting with Autodesk Civil 3D.
